A Deer

I painted this cute little deer, and here are the steps I used:

I started by drawing in pencil on my watercolor paper, getting as detailed as possible.

And then I taped my paper to my Art Board, and began by putting in some background color.

I add more background color, using the wet on wet….just to have a background setting for my deer…with little detail.

I started adding some very dark (a mixture of green and reds) almost black…for the eyes.

Adding some dark-details around the nose and with a little water added to that mixture, I added some color around the middle of it’s face.

A little more detail. And…

…more color and fur…and here is the finished painting below.
