ANDY GOES TO THE AQUARIUM is a sweet little book about a young boy who needs a friend.
Reading and writing and drawing are some of the best ways to gain the skills that kids need to be successful in this world. I think that it’s wonderful to see kids reading in such an age of electronic gaming and other distractions.
Here’s a way that one Gramma used to encourage her grandson…to read more, understand directions and to just have some fun at Gramma’s house.

My friend, Kathie bought a copy of the the book ANDY GOES TO THE AQUARIUM and also the Draw Book that goes with it.
Here are some photos that show what she did. I thought that it was too good of an idea….I just had to share it! I even ‘borrowed’ her idea for some gifts for my nieces, nephews, grandkids.
She bought a binder with the slide-in cover areas. Then she printed a great cover: personalized with Payce’s photo and his name in a fun font!

She placed the book itself in the front pocket page and bought a pack of colored pencils and put them in a 3-holed-zip-bag…and placed that in the binder also.

Then she printed out the PDF Draw Book…giving Payce some extra sheets of the things she thought he’d like and some extra papers for him to draw on.

Here are a few photos of Payce enjoying his new book, reading and doing the activity pages.

Thanks for sharing the great idea, Kath!
Have a great day,
-Rose
