Hi, there!
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend…and for those of you who celebrated Labor Day, I hope you had a happy holiday! Â My husband & I grilled out on our patio, Â and we enjoyed a sunny afternoon watching the Pittsburgh Pirates win the baseball game. (“Beat ’em Bucs!”)
Well, as I promised after we drew the frog, that we would draw a cricket….so, here it is! Although I’ve heard and seen crickets all of my life…I never really drew one. So, I had fun making this little guy. He is very colorful and just a funny little critter.Â
Here is the step-by-step lesson, I hope you have as much fun as I did. Remember to start with a WHISPER LINE.
If you think about it, scan or photograph your drawing and I’ll post it here for all of us to enjoy. Send it to [email protected].
Happy Drawing!
-Rose
Rose, I like your site and this post. I tend to be artistically challenged, but your step by step illustration looks like it could help someone like me! Nice work!
Thanks for the encouragement, Rocky! Visit again!
What a cute cricket and you make it look so easy!
I learnt something new a ‘Whisper Line’!
Heather, Thanks!
I found that being able to erase guidelines easily, helps kids to keep their drawings clean: thus the ‘whisper line’ was born! 🙂
I am sending this one to my daughter Rose! She is going to love this. Also a great reminder about whisper lines. I loved art in school and loved going to Michael’s (the store) to look in the art section.
Jonathan, thanks for stopping by. I hope that your daughter enjoys coming here to find some fun, easy & somewhat silly things to draw.
PS: on those days when you just need to relax and unwind…drawing is still always a good pastime! 🙂 Come back and join us!
Hi Rose, this is such a pretty site! My daughter happened to be walking past as I was looking at your site and loved the butterfly, so I’ve signed up for your emails.
Best wishes.
Kathy, I’m glad that you stopped by, I welcome both you & your daughter. -Rose
