Ti-i-i-ime is on my side…yes, it is.
A few months ago my office was burglarized. Besides just my feelings of comfort & security, my MAC was also taken.
At that time; among other projects… I was designing a 256 page book, and I was nearly done. But this incident caused a major delay in getting it to the printer.
At the same time, we’re dealing with extremely difficult medical issues with my husband and a new job for me. (I usually hold a part-time position while illustrating part-time…now I have a full-time position while still illustrating…which is a little tougher, but still do-able.)
So, unlike Mick Jagger, “ti-i-i-ime was not on my side…no, it wasn’t.”
I know that we all feel like this sometime; the feeling of getting up just to get knocked down again.
Understandably, I did have a few extra things on my plate…a new fuller schedule, and I had to re-format a new MAC, and I had to finish a book that ended up taking so much extra time. (not without some wrist/arm/shoulder complications and making my clients wait!) I also had to change every password…and close and open new accounts….the list goes on…I’m sure you can imagine, or maybe you’ve been thru similar.
Consistent Baby Steps
With a lot of help from my husband, family, & friends…I’ve spent the past few months reorganizing, re-prioritizing, rebuilding, reformatting …and now…I am even blogging again. Just a little at a time…but, being CONSISTENT with those little baby steps, ya know?
Side note: The book I was working on is: Be Your Finest Art (J. Miller & D. McHugh).
I’ll write about it in the next few weeks… it’s a wonderful book…very encouraging, inspiring and just beautiful to hold in your hands while paging through.
With renewed energy and a plan
The DrawPage will now post Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays with the weekly newsletter-email being sent out every Saturday morning. (So, if you are signed up for The Draw Page Newsletter…you’ll get all the new stuff in one neat little package every Saturday morning!)
Your Saturday morning newsletter will be full of inspirational photos, quotes, and stories…informational articles about interesting people, places, things… products available…. product reviews…and most importantly, a tutorial…a Draw Page!
… let the festivities begin!!!

Small world: “Callie and the Stepmother” was written by my roommate from college. That’s interesting that you illustrated it. I found you through 48 Days and Dan Miller.
I love your drawings for that book.
You know Susan? Wow. I only did the one book with her, but she is awesome!
I appreciate your kind words, and I hope you visit the Draw Page again.
thanks,
-Rose
PS: 48Days is a great organization also.
