Well, I guess that’s not really a good idea. I suppose, it could catch fire.
Not to mention that it’s just so much fun to sit and watch the fire, cook at the fire, and sing and spend time with family & friends at the fire…so, a sketchbook and pencil would probably get in the way.
But, it might be cool to sketch a campfire.
There is a clearing in the woods behind our house where we have a small pit with big stones all around, and huge logs to sit on. So the fire and all of the burning logs are safely in the hole…and we sit comfortably around it. We have a lot of fond memories there with the kids, family and friends.
There are a lot of wild cherry trees and, we cut the green branches and whittle a point on one end to use to cook hot dogs or marshmallows. We would spend many a Friday night around the fire just chatting & laughing.
Here’s the Game Plan:
You could start by asking your kids to think of all of the things that you might see at a campfire. Here are a few step-by-step Draw Pages, to get you started…remember to always begin with a whisper line.
You & your kids can take these step-by-steps and make the whole picture as is… or use them as stepping stones to create a fantastic work of art all your own.
No matter how you do it…I’m sure it’ll be time well spent just enjoying the company of your kids (or maybe just a quiet time all to yourself).
Please take a photo of you and/or your kids holding your finished work and send it to me [email protected] …and maybe I can add yours to a post someday soon.
I’d love to see…and show-off your gorgeous art.
Happy drawing!
